Case study / SBA document-preparation SaaS

Guiding borrowers from rough notes to a review-ready document packet.

LoanLens combines adaptive intake, AI-assisted business-plan drafting, three-year projection workbook generation, editing, human review, billing, and final downloads in one borrower workflow. It prepares documents; it does not lend or decide loan outcomes.

01 / Problem

The challenge

Borrowers often arrive with lender requirements, notes, assumptions, and templates spread across files and conversations. The product needed to organize narrative and financial inputs, generate editable outputs, preserve borrower responsibility, and create a clear human-review path without implying lending authority.

02 / Product direction

The product approach

We mapped the entire packet journey as one project record: adaptive interview, business-plan and projection generation, borrower editing, attestation, reviewer queue, version history, document-review completion or return for revision, and final downloads. Billing, support, content, and administrative controls were designed around that same lifecycle.

03 / Delivery

What shipped

A live Cloudflare-hosted product where borrowers can register, purchase and manage projects, generate Word and Excel drafts, revise and attest to their information, submit a packet for professional review, and download review-complete files. Reviewer and administrator roles support the work behind that customer journey.

System map

What the product brings together.

The value is in the connected operating system, not a list of isolated features.

01 / CAPABILITY

Adaptive guided intake

Structured business-plan and projection interviews collect company, market, loan-purpose, revenue, cost, staffing, seasonality, and operating assumptions without starting from a blank page.

02 / CAPABILITY

Document generation

Reviewed inputs become an editable business-plan draft and a three-year Excel projection workbook that preserves the supplied template structure, formulas, and sheets.

03 / CAPABILITY

Responsible revision controls

Borrowers can edit in the application, request narrow AI-assisted revisions, upload revised Word or Excel files, and attest to accuracy before review.

04 / CAPABILITY

Human review workflow

Reviewer queues, document notes, comments, review-complete and returned-for-revision states, and version history keep professional review inside the product rather than in an email chain.

05 / CAPABILITY

Accounts, projects, and billing

Authentication, email verification, multiple saved projects, Stripe checkout, payment history, and billing management create a cohesive account experience.

06 / CAPABILITY

Support and content operations

An in-app assistant, chat-to-email handoff, legal pages, structured metadata, and an editorial blog support both product use and responsible acquisition.
